Applications for the Ireland Active National Quality Standard (NQS) Awards 2026 are now officially open.

Celebrating 25 years of excellence, the NQS Awards continue to recognise the outstanding standards being achieved across Ireland’s leisure, health and fitness industry. The programme remains a key benchmark for quality assurance, supporting facilities in delivering safe, inclusive and high-quality experiences for their members and communities.

The National Quality Standard programme is designed to support continuous improvement across all areas of facility operations, including governance, customer service, health and safety, operational management and overall user experience. Through the accreditation process, facilities are encouraged to review, strengthen and showcase their commitment to best practice.

Over the past 25 years, the NQS Awards have become one of the sector’s most respected recognition programmes, celebrating facilities and teams that consistently demonstrate excellence across the industry.

Ireland Active encourages all eligible members to participate in the 2026 application process, whether renewing their accreditation or applying for the first time.

Application Process

  • Log into your Ireland Active member dashboard using your facility membership number
  • Complete your application online
  • Submit all required documentation via WeTransfer or Google Drive to nqs@irelandactive.ie
  • Ensure documentation folders are organised by category, including Safety, Hygiene, Customer Engagement and HR

Successful applicants and award winners will be recognised at this year’s Ireland Active Conference & NQS Awards, taking place on Friday, 6th November 2026 at the Johnstown Estate, Enfield, Co. Kildare, where the sector will come together to celebrate 25 years of excellence through the National Quality Standard programme.
