The Leisure, Health & Fitness Skillnet is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the BACPR Specialist Exercise Instructor Programme, delivered in partnership with the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR).

This programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Union and network companies, supporting the continued development of specialist skills across Ireland’s leisure, health and fitness sector.

Adapted specifically for the Irish health, fitness and cardiac rehabilitation landscape, the programme provides qualified exercise professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely prescribe and deliver exercise programmes for individuals living with cardiovascular disease.

Over the programme, participants will explore a range of specialist topics including cardiovascular disease, exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, exercise prescription, risk stratification, clinical health and safety, and community-based rehabilitation. The programme combines evidence-based learning with practical application, preparing participants to confidently support individuals in both rehabilitation and community settings.

Delivered through a blended learning format, the programme includes online and in-person sessions led by experienced tutors Noeleen Fallon and Annie Holden, both internationally recognised for their expertise in cardiovascular prevention, rehabilitation and exercise education.
