Pool Supervisor (Fixed-Term)

Location: PSLC

Contract: Fixed-Term, 1 Year

Hours: Full-Time / 40hrs (including evenings and weekends)

About the Role

PSLC is seeking an organised and motivated Pool Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of our aquatic programmes and pool facilities. This varied role combines staff management, programme coordination, customer service, administration, and pool operations.

The successful candidate will lead Swim Teachers and Lifeguards, manage swim lesson programmes, maintain high standards of safety and teaching, and support the smooth running of all aquatic activities. Strong IT, organisational, and communication skills are essential, with significant responsibility for using management systems, maintaining records, and liaising with staff, parents, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management & Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of Swim Teachers and Lifeguards.
  • Prepare and manage staff rosters using digital scheduling systems.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure high standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and ongoing support to team members.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels for all aquatic programmes and pool operations.
  • Conduct regular team communications and assist with staff training and development.

Swimming Lesson Programme Management

  • Coordinate and oversee all swim lesson programmes and aquatic activities.
  • Manage class schedules, enrolments, attendance, and programme administration through CoursePro.
  • Use Gladstone to manage swimming and AquaFit class bookings and operations.
  • Monitor programme quality and maintain consistently high teaching standards.
  • Work closely with Swim Teachers to ensure lesson delivery meets organisational expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding lessons, progression, bookings, and general enquiries.

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Normal Operating Procedures (NOPs).
  • Review, update, and manage aquatic operational documentation where required.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the aquatic facility.
  • Undertake lifeguarding and swim teaching duties when operationally required.
  • Support incident management, reporting, and follow-up procedures.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented and adhered to.

Administration & IT Systems

  • Manage daily operational tasks through a range of digital platforms and software systems.
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Excel, Word, and internal management systems.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to emails from parents, contractors, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Track operational duties, programme data, staffing information, and compliance records.
  • Produce reports and maintain documentation to support facility operations.
  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers regarding maintenance, repairs, and operational requirements.

Pool Plant & Water Quality Management

  • Monitor and maintain pool water quality in accordance with industry standards and legislation.
  • Carry out routine pool plant checks and water testing.
  • Maintain accurate water quality records and operational logs.
  • Assist in managing pool plant systems and identifying maintenance requirements.
  • Work closely with contractors and management to ensure the safe operation of pool plant equipment.

Education and Experience

  • Relevant qualification and experience in a supervisor role.
  • Relevant Swimming Teaching qualification.
  • Pool Lifeguard Qualification desired but not essential.
  • First Aid Qualification desired but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Ireland on a full-time basis.
  • Relevant Swimming Teaching qualifications.
