Sports Inclusion Attendants (3 Positions Available)
As a Sports Inclusion attendant, you will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of key objectives specific to increasing sustainable community swimming and physical activity opportunities for people with disabilities and those from disadvantaged & marginalised areas.
A key priority is to assist and support the Manager running the CSP Funded Service by providing high-quality, inclusive services and activities.
This role is funded by Pobal and is offered on a fixed-term contract for 18 months, with the potential of a contract extension of up to 5 years.
As the Sports Complex is open 7 days a week, this position will require some flexibility around working hours with regard to evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the CSP Supervisor & Manager with organising and delivering the outputs of the CSP services and activities
- Deliver quality, inclusive swimming and physical activity programs and classes.
- Provide feedback on how to improve the activities and services to be more inclusive and accessible.
- Assist with client form filling and administration related to the CSP services and activities
- Advocate for increased participation opportunities for people with disabilities to participate or be offered our services. Record and, where possible, try to increase participation numbers.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that the CSP services and activities are successful
- Drive and develop the strategic objectives of the CSP-funded services to enhance opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sport and physical activity within the local communities.
- Assessing the levels of participation of people with disabilities in sporting activities, taking account of socio-economic, gender, demographic, and other factors
- To provide regular analysis of the level of participation and development in the CSP-funded services
- Increase awareness amongst members and users of the facilities of the inclusivity of our complex and enhance an inclusive culture across the complex.
- Build positive relationships with all service users to heighten awareness of CSP-funded services and activities that WLSC provide.
- Attend any training and upskilling for CSP-funded services staff and the development of support resources and best practice guidelines
- Identify and provide feedback to the Manager on the training needs and demands for the targeted groups.
- Identify and encourage further development for the CSP funded service staff.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications in Swim Teaching, Disability Swim teaching, Gym Instruction, Personal Training, and group exercise classes is an advantage, however training will be provided for the right candidate
- A third level qualification or equivalent in adapted physical activity, community development, health promotion or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent work-based experience in the sports/disability sector would be beneficial
- Experience of working with or within a sports complex, sports development, or disability sport sector.
- Experience of providing inclusive swimming lessons and gym programmes specifically targeting people of all abilities and fitness levels is an advantage, but not compulsory.
- Knowledge of disability equality issues and a good understanding of the barriers people with disabilities experiences in relation to participating in sport and physical activity, would be beneficial.

- Capable and comfortable managing a busy workload, able to prioritize tasks effectively, and to meet tight deadlines.
